The inspiration for Simple Refined came from the desire to break away from traditional office aesthetics. Meng Yue wanted to create a space that was refined and sophisticated, using black, white, and grey as the base tones, with mellow raw wood textures and pops of orange and red as accents. The result is a visually striking environment that fosters creativity and productivity.

One of the standout features of Simple Refined is the clever use of mirrors. In the office area, a large mirror element enhances the sense of space, while also concealing a hidden television. This not only satisfies functional needs but also maintains a clean and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere. The meeting room, on the other hand, offers privacy while providing a visual connection to the outside world through its expansive glass windows.

With a total area of 297 square meters, Simple Refined offers ample space for work and collaboration. The design team carefully considered the daily functions of an office, ensuring that the layout and furnishings met the needs of employees. The result is a space that seamlessly combines practicality with elegance.

Simple Refined was completed in April 2019 in Shanghai, China. Throughout the project, Meng Yue and the design team faced various challenges, particularly in integrating the mirror elements and creating a harmonious balance between privacy and openness. However, their creative solutions and attention to detail resulted in a truly exceptional office design.

This outstanding design has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category.
